The evil wind I have been describing is not a new phenomenon. In fact it first turns up in the oldest book in the Bible.

In Job we read about how Satan sent an evil wind and how Job’s children were all killed when their house “gave way” (Job.1:18,19)  Not only did Job loose his family but he also lost his wealth and his health, all that we hold dear in this life.

However we also read how Satan was only able to do this because God gave him permission. He’s like a dog ……on a leash held by God, or as one of my friends puts it. “He’s only middle management.”  In other words he is only able to do what he has been given permission to do by our Father God whose essential nature is love and who is also all knowing, all seeing and all wise In other words he knows where we are at, knows where he wants to get us, and knows how to best get us there, by allowing adversity through the Adverary into our lives. God uses the evil wind for his good purposes.

Proverbs 19:23 says “The fear of the Lord leads to life. Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.”

This does not mean that trouble will not touch a man who fears God, but that when a man who fears God is touched by trouble it will not destroy him, it will define him because of the way in which he chooses to respond’ ……..as a VICTOR not a VICTIM.

Job’s wife who took offense on his behalf wanted her husband to play the VICTIM role.

“Curse God and die.” She said.

But he would not cave in to self pity, and to FEAR of what else the future might hold, refusing to complain, he said,

“Shall we receive good from God and not receive evil?”  (Job.2:10) 

Next he was tested by his, so called “Comforters” who were anything but true “friends”  as they piled on the CONDEMNATION, telling Job he was being punished by God for his wickedness.

Again Job asserted his trust,” Though  he slay me, Yet will I trust in him.”  ( Job 13:15)

The debate went back and forth for 40 chapters!….. but in the end God intervened, lifting Job  to a whole other plane by giving him a transformative spiritual revelation.

“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” (Job 42:5)

I believe that revelation was a vision of the cross, where Job saw the son of God, the spotless Lamb who had never been touched by evil, bearing the suffering that had come from that evil, that had stalked not only Job’s life, but the life of every man, woman and child, who has ever seen the light of day.

Grace through faith is imparted to Job as he emerges from this fiery trial cleansed and whole, his house now no longer built on the sandy foundation of his own words and works but on the solid rock of that PETER revelation of the finished work of The Lord Jesus Christ, the “Lamb of God  who takes away the sins of the world”……. ‘who was slain from the foundation of the world.’ ( Jn.1:36. Rev.13:8)

Someone has said that a religious man spends his life trying to avoid hell, a spiritual man is one who has been to hell and back

Last week we listened to Jordan PETER-son being interviewed by his daughter, Mikhaila about his last year. It can only be described as a journey to hell and back. It was the testing and (im) proving of a spiritual man who has also chosen the path of VICTORY over VICTIMHOOD. After listening, my respect for him (them) grew enormously!

The fruit of Job’s suffering was that he was then able to be an immense benefit to his friends. Instead of saying the prayers of a religious man, as he had done at the beginning of the story he had become a true intercessor carrying in his person the power and authority of his suffering Savior, the one who had chosen to become a VICTIM on behalf of all men in order that all men might share in his VICTORY over sin and death.

We have over the past weeks, and years watched our son Robin make the same journey.. As he has chosen to trust in the midst of loosing health, wealth and family, he has also been changed, growing in the wisdom from above…..

“……. first pure (morally and spiritually undefiled) then peace loving (courteous and considerate), gentle,, reasonable ( and willing to listen) full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without (self – righteous) hypocrisy (and self serving guile).” 

Robin is now back with us in our Boston apartment so graciously provided by Father through the instrumentality of Hospitality Homes. It is perfect for our needs, spacious, centrally located and well equipped.

It is however sparsely decorated with just two pieces of art.

The first picture is of a sun rise through a wood  just as we have over the past month, watched our son rise through a wood known as the Harvard  Arboretum, wealthy in magnificent trees from every land..

The second picture is of wind and water.

In the 1800s Boston prospered as the iconic clipper ships were built and then blown from here full speed  across the oceans, trading in the bounty of every land.

A second  “cloister walk” our Father has given us here in Boston is around a small body of water called Jamaica Pond.

There, inscribed on an old wall that has stood the shaking test of time, writ in moss, I noticed this well worn but timeless wisdom…….in answer to that desperate appeal by the Psalmist when the foundations are being destroyed…………

We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sail.

This is what Jordan and Greg and Robin have chosen to do,

……not to look backwards with anger

nor to look outwards with bitterness

nor to look inwards with self pity,

nor to look forwards with fear

…… but instead

to look upwards with

faith,

hope

and love,

and allow that wnd that was sent

to blow them

Heavenward.

……wih a wealth and bounty gained

to bless every land

where the Spirit takes them

……with wisdom and comfort to offer those handling benzodiazepine withdrawal, war wounds or amputation.

Last night Father woke me to insert an additional blog, interrupting my further answer to the question “What can the righteous do?” ……or maybe giving another perspective on how that question can be answered?

He brought to mind someone I have not thought about for many years. A man called Stewart Black.

Stewarty as we knew him was a very attractive person. Physically his handsome looks were topped off by a very distinctive head of thick white hair that he must have had from a very young age.

His character was also admirable. He was an “elder” in our church, and when the Holy Spirit was poured out and all sorts of rumors began circulating about the strange “Unpresbyterian” things happening in the youth group, Stewarty was the only member of the Kirk session who came to see for himself…..and ended up staying! “

Another reason everyone loved Stewartty was because of his sense of humor.He always had a funny take on things which would bring a smile to our faces and help us young people not take ourselves too seriously.

Father, then said to me…… pairing Stewarty’s name and hair

“it’s Black And White”

Now I realized that you can take this in two different ways. Firstly when the expression is used to indicate that something is OBVIOUSLY right (and something else is obviously wrong) ……“It’s so black and white!!!’

This might be described as somehing becoming  ‘politicized’  or ‘weaponized’ where we have taken a side. It could also be described in biblical terms as having eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Someone sent me an article recently from a Christian magazine entitled” Why I am Wearing a Face Mask to Church.” The author argued from scripture why he thought this was the right decision he had made now that church services were starting up again. I have written a few times and linked you to the medical references as to why we think medically speaking wearing a mask does not make sense, and could mistakenly be thought to be taking a side in a debate….where at the end we take a vote and one side wins and the other looses.

That however is not my intention and would I believe be missing the “Soft Stand’ point I wanted to make at the end of the last blog

Father said to me this morning, “ It’s not about the mask .It’s about the smile“  In other words it is not about taking a side, it’s about giving a smile, because we are no longer living from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but from the tree of life.

It is not about your choosing between something that you believe is right as opposed to something you believe is wrong. it is about choosing to follow what the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is showing you will bring life to others.

The first tree produces the fruit of self righteousness ……..I’m right (and by the way you are wrong)  The second tree produces the fruit of joy .

It’s not whether or not I have transmitted a virus or not, it’s about whether I have transmitted life and health or not and it centers around whether my motive is loving from a pure heart when I am on everyone’s side, or living from a political heart when I am on one side and not on another.

And so what Father was emphasizing was that it is not

BLACK  and WHITE

but…….

black AND white.……….like Stewarty!

The name Stewart (which happens to be the maiden name of both my mother and Hilary’s mother) means a servant. Our goal is, like Jesus Christ not to take a political side, but to be a servant of all, not by trying to please everyone, but by following in his footsteps, not as a moral teacher but as a living savior who has given us His Spirit that, as I said in the last blog, we might out of a place of rest, having surrendered up our “ political/tree of the knowledge of good and evil ‘’ opinions, hear instead his word of life in any and every situation.

As these thoughts were coalescing in my mind today, Hilary and I were staring out over Boston Bay from the harbor wall. The sight and sound of the sea awakened a longing  in me for, as my father used to say, ‘ a dip’

“ I wonder if I would be allowed to have a swim here or not?“ I said, tongue in cheek to Hilary.

”Well it wouldn’t do your health any good.” She replied, eyeing the dirty water.

It dawned on me I had just asked my question from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and she had answered from the tree of life.

The wind of evil I pointed to in the last blog seeks to kill. Under the guise of protecting us from something that will harm us it is in fact I believe hindering us from receiving something that will heal us……..a life giving smile, This is the reason why in public I  continue to, from a respectful distance, give an open faced smile to everyone I meet.

In taking a stand in this loving way I have found many people literally disarmed by the smile.  That shaming look from behind the mask which might have been an initial response quite often yields to acceptance if not full smile. And in the unmasked I encounter whose first instinct is to nervously grope for their fig leaf lest they be shamefully ‘found out’ my smile invites them to ‘just chill’.

This is how I have been lead. How you are lead is for you to discern.

In this simple and practical way I find an outworking of Colossians 2:15 as the devil is disarmed of those two weapons I mentioned in the last blog, scaring and shaming, as with a simple smile I convey the love that casts out fear and the acceptance that counters judgement and rejection.

And so Stewarty I salute you with the finishing flag, my beloved BLACK and WHITE brother who is now in a perpetual state of staring into his Father’s face, having heard the words,

”Well done good and faithful Stewarty. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

………..and  with an open face, he reciprocates that smile, as a true ‘chip off the old block’😊

At the end of the Foundations Course we read the story in Matthew 7 of the two men. The wise man who built his house upon the rock and the foolish man who built his house upon the sand. Then came the test to see if their house would stand or be destroyed.

“..…..and THE WINDS BLEW and slammed against that house.”

That wind just blew through our hometown of Minneapolis and the house of the fools, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey was destroyed with one billion dollars of damage……and that was just to the property!

I believe that currently there is a Satanic storm. An evil wind is sweeping across the whole earth..

The scripture I was given about this was, 

” This (superficial) wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly (secular) natural (unspiritual) , even demonic.(Jim.3:15 Amp.)

The motivation behind such wisdom we read is bitter envy and selfish ambition. The fruit of such wisdom is disorder, unrest and rebellion. 

Satan’s goal has always been to steal, kill and destroy. He is the “father of lies” and uses two weapons – FEAR and CONDEMNATION.

First came the FEAR through the ‘panic-demic”

I was given these words to sing in the song All Will Be Well.

Though fear has gone viral across every land

Though joy has been cancelled and business been canned

The ongoing hysteria generated by the Mainstream media around COVID 19 together with the irrational massive government overreach has left millions of people damaged emotionally mentally and economically, and deeply confused.

After the SCARING came the SHAMING..

What is ‘Black Lives Matter’ ? It os an implicate accusation directed toward those who do not identify racially as Black, that generates guilt and shame. The meaning of the name Satan is “accuser” To accuse another is to do the devil’s work. We are told to do away with the “pointing of the finger” (Is. 58:9)

In contrast to the wisdom from below that has wreaked such havoc in recent days, James describes the wisdom from above,

Having heard this wisdom from a couple of old white guys in the clip above here is some wisdom from a few old black guys who have demonstrated over a lifetime of fruitful service that they really do care about black lives..

Again it is the work of the evil Queen of Underland (Babylon) in conjunction with the Giants of Harfung (The BIG corporations controlling commerce and communications) to censor such wisdom and promote views that foster division and destruction for political ends. The primary issue is not race but POWER.

People who are SCARED and SHAMED can be controlled and manipulated by those who are driven by “jealosy and selfish ambition……”

We are at a time akin to the birth of Nazi Germany or Communist Russia, on the verge of a totalitarianism that has arisen that would engulf the whole world. The current turmoil is a showdown between good and evil  between truth and lies.

The stone that was used by the propaganda machine to foment this most recent avalanche threatening to destroy the foundations of society was the tragic death of a man called George. The end game was described many years ago by another man called George.

”Every book has been rewritten.  Every picture has been repainted. Every statue and street and building . Every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.“

George Orwell’s book was called 1984.

“Did he get the date wrong?” you  might ask. Interestingly the number 36 represents Enemy. It took another 36 years for the Enemy to fully reveal his hand in this year 2020.

Thankfully we know how it will all end  for another George , our Heavenly Father who in Jn 15 is called  by the Greek word ‘georgios’ (translated husbandman or vinedresser) from which the name George is derived has seen and scripted the end from the beginning. If we “abide in the vine” that this George tends, our lives will in the end have borne “ good fruit that will endure”

The sources of truth I have been pointing to over the past months birth faith unto life while the distortion and lies of the Queen of Underland and  the Giants of Harfung, (see The Silver Chair Blog. May 17) fatten us up for the kill by continuing to feed us a diet of fear and shame that lead to division, destruction and death.

When wrong is called right and right is called wrong

When the court is corrupt, true religion gone home

When wisdom is drowned by the noise of the throng

Let me use these lines from the song, that were given to me before their recent fulfillment had transpired, to begin answering more practically the question posed in the title.

The next line in the psalm suggests fleeing like a bird. Thankfully we can draw on another image of a bird……the Holy Spirit descended peacefully as a dove on Jesus head after he was baptized by John, as the Father spoke, “This is my beloved son in whom I delight.”

Knowing our Father’s delight puts us in a place of rest where we can hear his voice and know what we should do in any and every situation.

When In these evil days we feel that evil wind blow our way, we will be lead by that other good wind, the Holy Spirit, as to how to Stand.

I will give two examples from our recent experience. One I will call a “Hard Stand” the other a “Soft Stand”

If you have followed the blog for any length of time, you will be aware of the evil wind that has blown against The Big Green House through the accusationss coming from the neighbor living next door at house number 2725. The Strong’s number 2725 is the word for “The accuser – Satan”!

Our standing against these accusations culminated in a public hearing before the Citty council where over 60 other neighbors rallied in support of us. “True religion“ James tells us is to care for widows which is what we did in our home until the City threatened to punish us if we did not desist. The court, corrupted by the love of money, has continued to harass us. Afraid of a costly lawsuit from our disgruntled neighbor they have once again transmitted and compound her bullying in our direction.

Just a few weeks ago we received another threatening letter demanding an inspection of our property. When we informed them we were out of town with our son who was having an amputation they requested someone in the house co-operate in a “ virtual inspection”

We sought the council of friends and were confirmed in our belief that this was in breach of our 4th and 5th Amendment rights under the American Constitution. I then wrote to them..

We are not giving permission for any intrusion into our home, real or virtual in our absence.

I would appreciate if you would answer the question from my previous email…………….What is the city’s legal authority to do a zoom inspection or even come into the house?  Don’t you have to have some sort of “probable cause” to believe we are violating the law?  Since only our family lives with us now, what evidence do you have that we are violating an ordinance?

In response to this “Hard stand” we have heard nothing more.

The above photo is of a mural on a bridge that I run past when I follow the path along the Charles River here in Boston. The path is full of runners and walkers, mostly young and intelligent looking students or staff from MIT, Harvard or one of the other prestigious educational establishments. The mural reads and the artwork reflects “Patterned Behavior”

As I observed nearly all these folk hidden behind masks, I realized it was an illustration of how fear makes us cower and can be used to manipulate even the most intelligent people to act foolishly………in yielding to a pattern of behavior that if you do due diligence and think for yourself makes little sense.

Then the Holy Spirit prompted me to take a “Soft Stamd”

I heard, “Just like fear, JOY is contagious. Give a mask less open faced smile to each person you meet on the trail…….spread the pattern of joy😊

and so I did…….and so they did (well many of them)

SMILE …..

because in their heart of hearts they know

………God does love Me😃

So from Peter’s Hill to Peter’s Son!

After choosing to challenge the (mask) regulation on Peter’s Hill in order to do what Hilary believed was “the right thing”, we discovered this piece by Jordan Peter- son explaining to us why we live dangerously😊……

When  Robin first pointed me to Jordan Peterson it was his lecture answering the question “Would you call yourself a Christian?”  that impressed me. Although much of his teaching as a psychologist draws on the biblical stories he essentially said, “I would not call myself a Christian unless I lived like Christ”  I recognized in the way he answered that question the Christ like qualities of INTEGRITY and HUMILITY. His conclusions are also based on scientific studies – FACTS that add up over time . These are my three criteria for discerning what sources of “truth” I trust.

He strikes me as a “prophetic voice “ for our time. The phenomenal popularity on YouTube of this Canadian psychology professor has lead to thousands of young people move from atheism to faith in God and from hopelessness to purpose in their lives. 

His name itself points to his prophetic calling in these days. The Jordan river is where the prophet John the Baptist appeared as “a voice crying in the wilderness’. His message was that people should turn from the sinfulness prevalent in their society and take responsibility for their own lives. The decision to die to self and emerge to a new God centered life was then demonstrated in their submitting to John’s baptism.

The essence of this Jordan’s message is also, that we get really honest, and take radical personal responsibility

Then he is also a son of Peter. I finished the last blog with the apostle Peter’s confession of faith to Jesus, “You are the Christ the Son of the living God”. Jesus said this revelation and confession of Peter (whose name means ‘rock’) would be the FOUNDATION upon which he would build his church.

On the day of Pentecost when the church was born, Peter answered the question of the responsive crowd, “What must we then do? “ by spellng out how we take personal responsibility to express faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38) 

This verse formed the basis of a Foundation Course we taught at the Big Green House which was interestingly built by a man also called Peterson ….on a foundation of 250 tons of rock!

The key verse in the Foundation Course was Is. 28:16 (Amplified

“ Listen carefully, I am laying in Zion a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone for the (secure) foundation, firmly placed. He who believes (who trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be disturbed or give way (in sudden panic)”

The day Robin was discharged from hospital was topped and tailed by those “signs following” which confirmed to me the theme of this blog.

My proverb at the beginning of the day was.

“ Wise people are builders – they build families, businesses, communities. And through intelligence and insight their enterprises are established and endure.” (Prov. 24:3)

That evening I walked to the top of Peter’s Hill to say farewell to our beloved wood. At the top there are two large Foundation sized rocks, thoughtfully placed for people to sit and take in the beauty of Creator’s masterpiece.

The night before mischief had been at work on these stones. The graffiti is pictured above.

This amazing “sign following” appeared at the perfect time and in just the right place. where, only a  week before I had received the revelation that I shared in the last blog about two good men – Greg and Robin.

I couldn’t help but superimpose on those stones the illustration that I draw when teaching our Foundation Course.

When we believe in the Lord (Master) we repent from going our own way. When we believe in Jesus (Savior) we are baptized for the forgiveness of sins and when we believe in the Christ (the Anointed One) we too receive the Holy Spirit.

When our lives are built on this foundation we will not be shaken, but will be able to stand “in the evil day“.

I destroy homes, tear families apart.

I take your children and that’s only the start.

Last week Sean King once a leading voice in BLM said that statues of Jesus Christ are a form of white supremacy and should be torn down.

The scripture came to mind. “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Ps.11:3)

I aim to begin answering that question in my next blog which I plan to post in a day or two.

The other day Hilary climbed to the top of Peter’s Hilll in the Harvard Arboretum across the road from The Brigham and Woman’s hospital where Robin is (He must be a Brigand because he sure ain’t a Woman😊)

This wood consisting of thousands of diverse and ancient trees has been such a blessing from our Father as the ‘other’, walks and worships in the midst of creation…….for it’s still only one visitor per day in the hospital because of ‘the virus’

It was my turn to visit our courageous son who was just coming round from his 5th surgery in 3 weeks. 

“Ping” A text arrived from his mother. 

“Can you see me? I’m at the top of Peter’s Hill“ She asked.

“Yes” I replied.” Can you see me?  I’m waving from Robin’s window.” 

When we met up again she told me of how on top of the hill she had met a couple. They had connected initially because they like her, were both challenging the dominating narrative……

As the unmasked couple came nearer than 6 feet to the open faced Hilary, the three began to chat about the current situation, and the lady said,

“Something just doesn’t feel right!”

A friendly pair, they were intrigued with Hilary’s story about living through “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland.

Hilary explained how initial legitimate protests had been hijacked by evil, leading to decades of bloodshed and suffering, inflamed by the press and power hungry politicians.

Some things don’t change.

(In fact this horror of bloodshed continues to this day in Northern Ireland Just last week Westminster (regardless of the will of the Northern Irish people) legitimized murdering a 9 month old child, about to be born.)

Hilary thought her new friends seemed like a typical, ordinary, decent couple from Boston – but with their own ‘troubles’ – deep confusion about what was going on in today’s world.

The lady continued…….”Normally we Bostonians are friendly types. I feel bad about how inhospitable people here have become!”

“That’s what fear of ‘the others’ will do to you.” Hilary replied.

“ How can we get more understanding about what is really going on?”

So Hilary suggested a few perspectives beyond the Mainstream they might investigate on the web.

Yesterday I read on one of those sites yet another reason why the mask madness does not make any sense. OSHA, the Occupational Health and Safety Agency of the federal government have had a regulation for years stating that if the environmental oxygen level drops below 19.5% by volume it constitutes a serious danger to health as an ODA – oxygen deficient atmosphere. This ODA is created within a few moments after putting on a mask because of the displacement of oxygen by carbon dioxide. Although the physical repercussions of face masks are grave, I believe the spiritual, mental and emotional consequences are even worse. It has highlighted to me the deep significance of the line I was given many years ago,

I open my eyes, I see your smiling face

Warming my heart. Good Morning Dad

While Hilary was having this conversation on Peter’s Hill, I was looking out toward them from Robin‘s window, while a doctor and nurse were engaged in yet another pain reducing procedure to cover a portion of the raw skin at the graft donor site, which had accidentally been left exposed. Robin was very uncomfortable with a couple of other ‘below the waist’ sources of pain going on at the same time!

“Just a little artwork to cut the dressing to size” the lady doctor explained.

Robin lying on his front shot back……….“ I’ve got some glitter here to finish it off with….”

We all laughed at the notion of the fictional glitter …………

………and in doing so it was as if the glitter materialized in the room as our faces lit up …….and Robin’s name (“Bright‘) revealing our Father’s true nature, came shining through, his smiling son.

The following day it was Hilary’s turn to visit Robin and mine to enjoy the Arboretum. As I turned a corner at the foot of Peter’s Hill, I came face to face with another mask-less man – in a wheelchair. His two stumps of legs were poking out from his shorts. Before I knew it I had engaged him in conversation about his condition. I could see he was quite taken aback by my forthrightness and so I explained to him about Robin’s situation.

“Who is doing the surgery.?” Greg asked.

“Matthew Carty.” I replied.

“ I am now a medical student at Harvard. I was trained by Dr Carty last year. He’s the best there is.” volunteered Greg, enthusiastically.

What is your story? I asked.

I was in the military. Walking along a road in Afghanistan…..one moment I was all there, the next……. I was like this.”

”Tell your son another transformational moment came for me some time later, when I finally stopped looking back with regret over all the things I could no longer do and began looking forward to all the possibilities ahead. “

He nodded to his beautiful wife standing shyly behind him. “That’s Teddy in the buggy….and we’re expecting another”. He smiled.

To demand that the smile of God on the human face be covered up for what turns out to be no reason at all, is as diabolical as it gets

Georgiana Flood.

The image of Georgiana’s contorted features as she writhed in pain when her limbs were cut off before being ruthlessly murdered, like the millions of her brother and sister black children, was not flashed across screens worldwide by CNN or BBC.

These faceless and nameless children all went “silently into that dark night.” cruelly killed by men who have no fear of God but are set on destroying his image borne by every man, woman and child.

Such evil Is now being unmasked and although at times it seems overwhelming, God is preparing, a new leadership for his world. Good men like Robin and Greg who have been trained and purified by being forged in the fire of affliction, learning how to overcome evil without and within by the grace and mercy of God.

On my way home I stopped at a traffic light. Through my open car window I couldn’t help but hear a conversation between a couple of black ladies, whose lives also matter, standing just a few feet away.

“I’m going to be so glad when we can get rid of these” the young girl said holding up her surgical mask. “ I think we should have a ‘burn your mask ‘ like ‘burn your bra’ celebration” when it happens! she chuckled.

She noticed my unmasked smile through the open window and we exchanged thumbs up as the lights turned green and I drove off laughing, into our future where I know “All Will Be Well.”

I’m sure when the original Peter made his confession to Jesus, “You are the Christ! The son of the living God.” He too had a radiant smile …….all over his face😊

In 1998 I was lead to go to New York City to be Brian Caruth’s running partner in the New York Marathon. Well we both completed it in a tad over 2 hours : – ) But I knew the main purpose had not been to win the race but to run through all 5 boroughs of the City and drench it in the prayer “Lord Jesus we enthrone ……Come Lord Jesus and take your place……as King of New York.”:

Team Kyle had constituted Hilary myself and Abby (7) and Joshua (8). As we drove up out of the City the day after, I looked back to see the Twin Towers dominating the Downtown. Abby spontaneously began singing “Lord Jesus We Enthrone You………Come Lord Jesus and take your place”.

As she did Joshua (now Gilbert) began to laugh.

“What are you laughing at?” I asked him.

“There are playing cards coming out of Abby’s mouth.” He chuckled.

“What are they.?” I asked.

“Well, there’s an Ace and a King and Queen, and a Jack and a Ten.” He said

Father then whispered to me

“It’s a Royal Flush. And I am coming to take my place as King of New York. But with that there will be a flushing out of evil.”

Who would have anticipated that a few years later those Two Towers would have been destroyed by evil or that 22 years later this city and others like Minneapolis and now Seattle would be decimated by two debacles which are exposed in the ridicule of JP Sears and the candidness of Candace Owens that top and tail this blog.

Last summer our daughter and her family fled New York City just in the nick of time. Many of their friends are now also moving away as ‘The Big Apple’ becomes ‘The Bad Apple’.

This morning I read “People lose their way without wise leadership, but a nation succeeds and stands in victory when it has many good counselors” (Prov.11:14)

He has sounded out the trumpet that shall never call retreat

He is sifting out the hearts of men before his judgement seat.

These lines from the Battle Hymn of the Republic are surely being fulfilled in our day as we witness the bad fruit of bad leadership from those whose hearts are perverse.

A few nights ago we watched a powerful documentary drama about St. Joan of Arc. It told the most amazing, beautiful but tragic story, of how when France was languishing in victimhood, during the Hundred Years’ War, a simple teenage girl who ‘feared God’’ and responded to his voice was raised up to lead France’s army into victory over the English in order to see the Dauphin crowned as King of France in the name of “Jesus, the King of heaven”

She insisted on moral purity from all her soldiers and in a standoff between the armies she instructed her army be given communion on the battlefield. On seeing this the English simply turned and walked away liberating the besieged city of Orleans! Here it is if you’d like to view…..

Having lived a courageous life of selfless service out of a pure heart, Joan was in the end tragically deserted by her friends and betrayed by self serving politicians, suffering martyrdom by being burned alive at the stake.

In the last blog I wrote about Pain, and it’s bed fellow Anger. Another associate of Pain and Anger is called Sorrow

That night, Father spoke to me about the road we take each day to Robin’s hospital.

It begins on the unusually named STORROW DRIVE

He said, “The road to ST – hood is the road of sORROW.”

As I wrote about the four men last week, when you experience Anger and Pain, if you do not look outward for someone to blame, but you take personal responsibility to utilize the Sorrow of the camber, you will ascend and help others ascend “the highway of holiness.”……as you, “Count it all joy…..!”

From STORROW we turn onto RIVERWAY and then ARBORWAY

This speaks of “the man” in Psalm 1. “Who does not walk in the counsel of wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of scoffers.”

But his delight is in the law of the Lord

He is likened to a tree (ARBORWAY) planted by the river (RIVERWAY)

…….that bears fruit in its season

This man is the man Jesus Christ……….and all who identify with Him, who fear the Lord and walk in His ways, yielding the same good fruit from their lives.

On a personal note, Robin is still in hospital. Dr Carty is planning to do a skin graft whenever the wound is ready to receive it. We hope that will be this week. Robin’s pain relief continues to be a major challenge. Thankfully Hilary and I are now allowed to visit, though in a limited way. We are all learning patience and trust in Boston. Thank you dear friends for your many expressions of love and support.

Just as I was about to post this, we got word that our dear friend of 50 years Paul Cupples, who was one of the four men mentioned in the last blog has just this morning made his final ascent up the camber of suffering onto the highway of holiness and to his eternal destination. In the words of another Paul, he has fought the good fight finished the race and kept the faith. He and his wife Jesse are both deserving, by God’s grace, of that crown of righteousness, for a life well lived, leaving much good fruit behind.

In the last blog I suggested the greatest blessing of the ‘virus’ crisis might be PAIN.

This weeks “news” i.e. what the Mainsream Media are choosing to focus us on is the storm that has arisen in Minneapolis……and now beyond, over George Floyd’s tragic killing.

The images of our City burning were a flashback to ‘the Troubles’ of the 70s 80s and early 90s in our other home city – Belfast!

” Be very careful then how you live, not as unwise but as wise, MAKING THE MOST OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY for the days are EVIL. “ seems more relevant than ever!

Hilary and I are in Boston primarily for Robin’s surgery, but find it is also part of the bigger picture. We were invited to share at a fellowship here in modern America’s birthplace on Pentecost Sunday morning.

The night before, I was awakened by a literal, “mighty rushing wind’ in our room. It was 4.40. I was lead to Psalm 4:4

“Be angry, but sin not. Ponder in your heart (dialogue with Dad) on your bed and be still. Offer right sacrifices (of thanksgiving) and trust in the Lord.”

Anger rises up in us when we are in pain because things are not the way we want them to be. We can then channel that anger in a positive or negative direction.

The way in which we can avoid the sin that can so easily arise out of this anger is to “drop down” from our soul – those inflamed emotions and strong opinions – to hear in our spirit the contrasting ”still small voice” of God bringing us to rest as we give thanks, trusting that our loving Father has everything in hand.

Often when I then ponder on my bed, my Heavenly Father reminds me of the wisdom I heard from my earthly father or mother. I remembered how my Dad said repeatedly during ‘The Troubles’ – “I blame the Media for inflaming the violence”

Control the narrative and curate the truth in order to “Divide and conquer” continues to be the strategy of a corrupt elite behind the propaganda machine. This effect gets amplified with so many now also on ‘social media’ and everyone wanting to voice their ‘opinion.’

The scripture came to mind, “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.” (James 1:19)

Father then spoke to me about two emails I had received that day. One was from a friend Peter, a leader of a ministry working with the voiceless and marginalized, located at the center of the unrest. Over the last few years Peter has had a remarkable journey of healing from cancer.

Peter told of how evil had co-opted the legitimate protests, destroying hundreds of immigrant businesses, and wasting an area that was already struggling economically. I was reminded how on the day of Pentecost,

“Peter, stood up………..”

This Peter was standing up, leading an initiative to mobilize hordes of volunteers to literally clean up the streets after the destructive violence.

The second email I got that day was from Jessie in Belfast whose husband Paul has also suffering from a wasting disease, in his body, affecting the motor neurones. The last time we visited, the only movement Paul could make was to blink his eyelids. Jessie was able to use a letter board to interpret him.

”He is asking ‘How can we pray for Robin?’”

We were deeply moved by this expression of selfless love.

I was reminded of the scripture in Acts 27 :21

“Paul stood up………”

In Ephesians 6:13 we are told to ”Take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the EVIL day, and having done all, TO STAND.”

In this EVIL day we are called“to stand”

• to stand on the truth of God’s word,

• to stand up, by doing whatever he reveals to you personally as your responsibility to express his love and hope, whether it be to intercede in you heart, because like Paul, you can only stand up by lying down and lying still, or to stand up like Peter and his friends by getting up and brushing up the glass of a poor immigrant’s shattered dream

As I am typing this I get two more texts, one from our son Robin who has just had an amputation of a leg with a cancerous wound. Robin’s name is a form of Robert which means, “bright fame” Robin wrote this to our family,

I have made it through some of the most painful nights imaginable this week, I think we have figured out how best to use the pain meds going forward. As expected my skin is not healing like normal, it’s not bad but just needs some help. I will be having an operation Monday to clean stuff up and prepare it for a vac(which will assist with new skin formation) and then on Friday I will have a skin graft operation. It’s gonna be a longer road than I would have liked but I’m happy to pay up front for a better future. Love you all and thanks for your prayers.

The second text is from my dear friend Vernon Robert (son) in Canada who has also just had surgery on his leg for cancer!! A few days ago Vernon sent this message to Robin, Hilary and I. “ God works ALL things out for GOOD” What an amazing Truth that is at this time. In Christ Love. Vernon and Maureen.”

These two are also called in a remarkable way to stand ….. in the face of a literal assault on their legs……that in their standing, God’s bright glory would be made famous through them.

These four, Peter, Paul, Robin and Vernon have all suffered great pain, but have seen it as an opportunity to turn the pain from a SORE to a SOAR, as they have mounted up with wings as eagles to view these difficult things from the vantage point of where they really live, “seated in Christ in heavenly places.” while keeping their feet firmly on the ground of real life.

They represent a “remnant of grace” on a “road less travelled.” Instead of succumbing to a destructive anger, they have found grace for a constructive camber to ascend and call others up onto the “highway of holiness”

As I rose last Sunday morning having received this message for the church gathered in the car park that morning, I stood in the restroom (as men do in the morning ) and there in front of me was the painting above. It was an incredible double witness to the message I had just received from our Father!

I noticed the name of the artist in the bottom left corner – Peter!

In the foreground TWO weatherbeaten stakes STAND at their post.

The sea storms, and yet the the water stops just short of where they stand. ( I recall Peter’s subsequent report told of how the rioters got within a block of their “Fallout Shelter” before being halted by the National Guard)

The sky is ominously dark, and yet at one point there is a lightness,, a faint blueness and brightness. We realize that behind the clouds shines the Sun……..and the storm will pass.

It is for us simply to STAND in Christ…. for the victory is already assured…..in the One who has risen!

…………and ALL WILL BE WELL.

On our way home from our daily meal delivery to Robin in the Boston hospital (The authorities are still denying **real science and forbidding visiting!) we stopped off to buy coffee and were permitted to sit outside the coffee shop to enjoy it in the sun. We watched a group of three approach the man opposite to ask if they might sit next to him to eat their lunch. “No! Too close” he nervously objected.

“You can sit with us” we called out, and thus began a new friendship with Dmitri. He pointed to his mother, and told of how she had emigrated from St Petersburg many years ago when Jews were permitted to leave for Israel. They choose instead the plane to Boston. “She raised us to live life fearlessly.” He said.

He found it funny to see I had converted my mask into a “Kippa” to protect my sunburned head. It proved to be more than prophetic when yesterday we got a text message inviting us to join Dmitri and his cousin for their Shabbat celebration. What a fun feast it turned out to be : – )

What a message from Abba, that when in faith we dwell in the shelter of El Shaddai then we can truly enter with joy into the rest of his Shabbat!

……basking in the sunshine of his love rather than masking before the specter of fear.

A few weeks ago I wrote about how I was shown that CS Lewis’ story,’The Silver Chair’, was prophetic for these days. I would encourage you to read or reread it.

One of the parallels I drew was between the Giants of Harfung and today’s God-denying Giant corporations, for example BIG Agriculture, BIG Pharma and BIG Tech. I said when these corporate entities are unredeemed they trade in “the bodies and souls of men” as described in Revelation 18. I named Bill and Melinda Gates as having been cast in the role of the King and Queen of the Giants. “Cast in the role of” is significant, for we do not get to choose the part that we will play, in this drama called LIFE.

Yesterday I got another of those ‘signs following’ confirming to me that I had indeed heard right. I learned from James Corbett in his fourth and final video in the series Who is Bill Gates?, that there is a chapter in Gate’s book ‘Showing up for LIFE’ which he has entitled, “Walking With GIANTS”

This chapter describes the close relationship the Gates family have with the Rockefeller family who have also used their great wealth to promote under the guise of philanthropy a Eugenics ideology and agenda, in Corbett’s words “Not to improve the world for mankind, but to improve the world for their kind”

This was the same mentality that the Giants of Harfung had……at times almost capable of pity for the Man and Marsh wiggle “meal to be” but bound by the understanding that their being Giants “fodder” was the natural order of things. ……for Giants kind was not “humankind”

Our three heroes, Eustace, Jill and Puddleglum had two Awakening experiences in the story.

The nature of the Giants as malevolent rather than benevolent, was the first Awakening, which lead to them taking immediate and drastic action to escape. There is an obvious parallel between this and  where we find ourselves today as the human race under threat.

Having said that, one can see God’s redemptive hand in the (to pun) ‘Silver Linings’ to what has been variously called the plan-demic, panic-demic and  sham-demic.

The most obvious may be how in this imposed season of Sabbath rest, people are refocusing on home and family….the God ordained building block …..as we come to Him, the living stone – rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him, and as living stones are built together into a dwelling place in which God lives by his Spirit, to express His glory. This is in contrast to the building of a Tower of Babel where men in their arrogance say, “Come let us to make a name for ourselves.”

I believe however the greatest ‘silver lining’, believe it or not, has been………

The Pain

At this very moment our eldest son Robin, is being relieved of the chronic Pain he has suffered for 31 years as he undergoes an above knee amputation of a leg that has been almost totally destroyed by infection and cancer below the knee.

As we have been together in Boston during these pre-op days the main theme of his speech  has been profound gratitude,.….gratitude for being alive at this time on earth, when, had he been born just a few decades earlier, he would have been long dead!……gratitude for God’s hand orchestrating that the surgery will be done by probably the leading surgeon in the world in this field……but also gratitude for what he calls the ‘gift of the wound’ which has changed who he is and how he now views God, his  life and other human beings – through God’s compassionate eyes.

That means human beings without exception, from the most obviously disadvantaged and damaged child to the “apparently” successful powerful  and public leader…..who inside is also a damaged – and terrified little child.

It was Lewis who said, “Pain is God’s megaphone to wake a sleeping world” who crafted The Silver Chair to illustrate this with the Marsh wiggle, obviously of another ‘kind’ but with the ‘divine spark’ to endear him to us. In a desperate attempt to resist the enchantment he sacrifices his own comfort for the sake of apprehending the truth. He courageously stomps his foot in the fire. As he cries out in Pain all three are jolted back to the awareness of that beautiful reality of Overland

In a similar way Robin’s Pain and Prunimg courageously endured, has served to re-awaken him as a Puddleglum, (and Hilary and I as a Jill and a Eustace.) to a deeper reality – the kingdom of God that is coming on earth. and to desire this Awakening for all through the Present Pain and Pruning.

This has involved Robin taking responsibility for his own heath and applying the truth he has discovered that sets us free. Leg aside, the medical tests revealed he has gone in to surgery in excellent physical condition….. even scaling that tree he pruned, with his own “dead” limb, that is now itself,  being pruned!

Today’s date for Robin’ss surgery has been perfectly ordered by our Father. Last Sunday I had a marvelous conversation  with Robin’s two sons about the story of Paul’s shipwreck in Acts 27. This has been a life passage for me.

Robin and his son Ravi are also  named Paul. That evening Robin told of how he had made a tax payment for $2700 and then was confused when he got a check back from the government for $2700. It proved to be his stimulus check……’God incidentally’…. for the same 27 amount!!

Then it dawned on me the surgery had been rescheduled for today, 27th.

The beauty of that prophetic story in Acts 27 is that in the midst of the storm when everyone else had lost hope, that Paul stood up and said, “ Last night an angel appeared to me and said, ‘Fear not! God has graciously given you the lives of all on board.’”

Not only did Paul and his believing companion Aristarchus make it safely to shore, but all 276 on board also reached Melita, which means honey. This represents the land ‘flowing with milk and honey’, ‘the promised land’ of our immortal  inheritance that was lost in Adam but has now been recovered in Christ.

This is the Greatest Love Story Ever.

……..That in the end of the day the most damaged child ever born and the most ‘apparently’ successful ‘leader’ will share the same fate, as actors in the Divine drama, some as vessels of honor, some as vessels of dishonor.

All will humbly bow at the end of the play before the dazzling light of the one who has authored, cast and completed this story and before the one through whom the whole world has been conciliated……….our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

When we awaken to this story……that God is this good, God is this gracious,  God is this wise, God is this powerful, and God is this sovereign, then we know,

All Will Be Well,

……….and we can easily join Paul at  the end of the Ephesians 5 passage 

…….ALWAYS giving thanks for EVERYTHING in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

At the end of the last blog I plucked the title  Just Give Me The Good News, ‘out of the air’ so as to speak, without any forethought. Moments after posting the blog I then discovered a link to some of that Good News. In fact true to Is. 65:24 “Even before they call I will answer…..” the link had come into my mail box before I even posted!

That blog sought to awaken us to the evil and corruption of these days. This report  describes how the evil and corruption of two of the GIANTS of Harfung, the vaccine child of BIG PHARM and Monsanto the child of BIG AG, are even now being exposed and brought to account.
