I love the story of Elijah fleeing from Jezebel to Mt. Horeb.
There God speaks to him not in the wind or the earthquake or the fire but in a still small voice. (1 Kings.19)
What a message for these days where everyone and everything seems to be clamoring to get our attention by upping the volume……bigger noise, bigger numbers, bigger names!
But rather than this guaranteeing the presence or approval of God these worldly metrics are the opposite to those of the kingdom where small is beautiful.
And so the sermon on the mount says, blessing belongs to those who acknowledge they are small and have a need…the poor, the mourners, the meek, the hungry and thirsty.
The Mt. Horeb story however does not exclude God using the wind the earthquake and fire to speak and act…….in fact he uses EVERYTHING he makes and does to communicate to and through his beloved creation.
The other night before falling asleep I asked Father to speak to me about next steps for our upcoming trip to Ireland where we will ‘show and tell’ about our Father’s greatness and goodness through the two gifts he has recently given, in music and film.
During the night he sent a tornado. As the storm raged with the thunder rumbled and lightening flashing, I found myself in inintercession repeating the words from my last blog “Tears of Joy”
‘Ears to hear! Eyes to see!’
The next morning as I biked forth I discovered a tree had fallen on our street. I noticed it was outside house number 2733. 33 is the number for ‘a sign’

Father said,
‘Remove every barrier to people getting to the Big Green House.’
I knew he was talking about the showing of The Big Green House documentary in Belfast next month.‘
As I proceeded I found a second tree blocking the trail and then a third witness……only this fallen tree was actively being removed.
When I returned it was completely gone, and I knew so should the nominal fee we were asking to view the movie!

A further sign on my bike ride came in the form of another cyclist who approaching me called out,
“On your right!”
I have never had that happen before. Convention is “On your left”
As he sped past I noticed his green shirt.
We are meant to overtake/whelm people not with judgement (left side) but with mercy and grace (right side and green color 😀)
This was the meaning of the miraculous catch of fish from casting the nets out on the right side of the boat recorded in John. 21.
The eventbrite link has been adjusted accordingly.
Here it is.
Please feel free to book a free ticket and forward the link to anyone in Belfast you like😀
