Wild West Report
We had a great time last weekend in Denver at the Docuwest Film Festival.
Numbers weren’t big but as always Father reminded me His kingdom is not about Numbers Names and Noise but about hearing and following The Still Small Voice.
It ‘just happened’ that producer Ryan Grams (above left) had a work appointment in Denver that weekend next door to the Holiday Theater and so was able to be there and what’s more brought his daughters and wife along for a family ‘Holiday’
When we shared with Emma Peterson, the festival judge, how her last name was the same as the builder of The Big Green House and how It was reflected physically in the 250 ton, 3 foot deep, laser leveled rock foundation, Dan Peterson had laid, and how laying the solid foundation Peter had confessed, “You are the Christ the son of the living God.” in the lives of those God lead to the house was crucial to their healing, we sensed a deep personal longing as she confessed,
‘ I absolutely believe in these things! ‘
Our screening was back to back with another excellently produced documentary called Legacy. It was a moving study of the challenge family farmers in Colorado are experiencing in these days. It is available to watch on YouTube here…….

Immediately after the joint Q and A the makers of this documentary connected at a deep personal level with us. Inspired by the content of our movie they were looking for further connection and direction which included this follow up in Vincent and Nicole’s (pictured above right) living room.(pictured below)
Our movie is not yet publicly released as the Film Festivals like to premiere.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Hilary and I are heading to Denver to the Docuwest Film Festival where The Big Green House documentary about our home has been selected to be screened.
Some of our local friends there will be attending the movie and Q and A with us . We thought we’d let you know in case any other blog readers happen to be in the vicinity😀

Then just this afternoon we got word that TBGH has also been chosen as a semi finalist in The Edinburgh Film Awards. That is the 6th Laurel it has accrued!
On another documentary note, Hilary and I attended the Global Health Freedom Summit in Alexandria Minnesota last Saturday. It was an inspiring and enlightening time. One of the speakers was Dell Bigtree. On Sunday he released his latest powerful and timely documentary, An Inconvenient Study.

I Can See Clearly Now.
I just got an email from a friend in Belfast eager to know when the blogs will be starting again. I then checked on the God’s Kingdom blog to discover one just posted with the above title. So I put that together as a nudge for me to begin writing again🙂
The rest of that line from the song is of course…….’the rain has gone.’
And the song concludes……………it’s gonna be a bright bright bright sunshiny day😀
Well the sunshiny story behind the photo of Hilary under a double rainbow was as follows…….
We were walking at the coast one day when I recognized someone walking towards us in the other direction.
‘Winnie?” I enquired.
‘Yes. Who are you?’ Was the puzzled reply.
‘Paul and Hilary Kyle….remember from the year of 78’ medical school?‘
The passing of 50 years has a way of making one unrecognizable to friends!
As we continued in conversation Hilary noticed another familiar face passing by.
‘Eileen? ‘ she enquired.
‘Yes. Who are you?” came another puzzled reply.
‘Hilary Johnston I was. I was in the same geography class as your husband at Queens University.’
With that the heavens opened.
‘I have an umbrella.’ Said Eileen. ‘Let’s shelter by that tall hedge.
And so for the next 20 minutes we had ‘the church of the umbrella’
Remember Jesus words. ‘Where two or three are lead together by the Holy Spirit there am I in the midst of them.”
When Winnie’s husband, Stephen came to rescue the drowning rats we realized we also knew one another!
As the rain stopped the double rainbow appeared in the heavens, a sign of Father’s heavenly orchestration of this earthly ‘co-incidence’ 😀
After a gap of 50 years for all three it was Father’s time for them to have a reunion with us..……a reunion that continued over the retreat a few weeks later which they all attended
………and then on the day after the retreat in the nearby town of Holywood I felt to go to a local coffee shop. At one point as I was working, I looked up.to see my newly seated neighbors……..WOW! Winnie and Stephen!!!
Our ‘kingdom business ongoing, our kingdom connections confirmed.
This Weekend…..
‘……Though the young lives are taken by their own hands.”
The two tragic school shootings in Minneapolis, one day after another has highlighted the sad state of affairs amongst the youth in our troubled world, nation and State.
Our hearts go out to the grieving and hurting families living through the pain of these shocking events.
The scene of the first shooting was at Christo Rey school, the site where this summer we almost premiered a double presentation of The Big Green House documentary and the Singing My Father’s Song album release.
Christi Rey means Christ is King.
There we would have showcased the new setting of Lord Jesus we enthrone you……….we proclaim you are King
The title for this blog about young lives being taken by their own hands comes from another song from the album, All Will Be Well, that describes the turbulent and confusing times in which we live…..includimg the tragedy of both youth suicide and homicide.
Just today before hearing about the shootings I came across this clip from our Minneapolis album release concert in July which ended up instead being held at Celtic Junction.
The song which Ben sings with his daughter Isla is a timely reminder how in the midst of tragedy we do not loose hope because we know ‘Vivo Christ Rey’ ……
‘Christ is King – He lives!”

I posted in my last blog the lesson I was learning through my experience of being ‘discredited’ as author of 5 albums by Spotify….namely all credit and all glory goes to Father God alone😀
How this switch happened a few months ago remains a mystery to Spotify, Ditto, who denied knowledge of anyone called Paul Kyler, and ourselves alike.
My friend Mike in Minneapolis set about trying to solve the mystery and sent me this text
“ I did some detective work and finally found Paul Kyler…….The resemblance is uncanny!”
Anyhow I did receive this month’s Spotify numbers. Again at 280 it was well below what had been usual, so I pondered the meaning of the number.
The number 28 represents “The leading of the Spirit’ As Dr Jones writes** this is indeed our ‘destination’ as believers that like Enoch we should,’walk with God’ so that we too might merge into unity with Him.
Paul’s prophetic sea journey that ended in the shipwreck is recorded in Acts 27. It is in chapter 28 we read they all were saved, reaching the island of Melita (honey) representing ‘the promised land’
Then yesterday we took our grandson Roy to the Saint Patrick Centre in Hilary’s hometown, Downpatrick. We ‘bumped into’ the director, who ‘just happened’ to know good friends of ours in Minneapolis, and gave us a free pass into the guided exhibition.
There I snapped this…….
The story continued that the company almost starved to death until Patrick prayed and God miraculously provided food.
We couldn’t begin to count the ways in which God has miraculously provided for us our family and friends who are coming into town from overseas in terms of food and finance, transport and accomodation.
It reminds me of Amy’s word at the dedication of The Big Green House 23 years ago……
“This is a miracle in progress”
May we all continue this romance of being ‘lead by the Spirit’ like Patrick and Paul, walking into the works for-ordained for us, in this time and place.

Without Spotify or Wrinkle.
A few months ago Hilary discovered on her Spotify app. some of my songs were now being credited by our distributor, Ditto Music to Carole Pardoe. I asked our friend Carole (who wrote one song on Good Mornin’ Dad) about this and she said she had never even heard of Ditto Music!
I have been pursuing this with Ditto Music for sometime now, and it gets worse and worse with every email. Here is their last reply.
‘Good morning, Paul, thank you for your detailed explanation! I’ve just checked on your account, and I can confirm that the artist Carole Pardoe was always the primary artist.As for the Paul Kyler, there is no artist with this name on your Ditto account.’
I don’t know of this is merely incompetence or if others are seeking to make some profit from the songs that Father entrusted to me. Sadly this would not be the first time this has happened.
We know we have been called here to challenge the ‘American idols’ of Fame and Fortune, and so reputation and remuneration are not the goal for us. As Paul wrote to the Philippians.
“But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,”

When I mentioned this craziness at last night’s concert, a friend commented to me later, “Your music is too sacred to be on Spotify.”
I smiled at the time, but later felt the Lord highlight to me the evil of this system which most have come to accept as ‘normal’
Essentially these Babylonian corporations steal the songwriter’s songs, cornering the market and then giving them a fraction of a penny for every stream. This means that even very popular artists get very little for their millions of plays. Over the years my income from these digital platforms has hardly covered Hilary’s monthly Spotify subscription!
We are now reflecting again on the practical implications of the injunction regarding Mystery Babylon, which we have been in captivity to, “Come ye out of her.” (Rev.14:7)
The primary issue here is walking free of the ‘love of money’ in order to be the holy Bride of Christ…….hence the title of this blog, ‘Without Spotify or Wrinkle.’ (Eph. 5;25,26)
Dan Adler, a distinguished local leader who invited us to do the pre release concert at his ‘Music Factory’ a few months ago, recommended to people, that aware of this current reality they should pay something for the artist’s CD……..they can then ‘put it on the shelf’ and feel free to listen on a digital platform if they wanted to, knowing then, they had not been party to this ‘theft’
In the light of this if you have not already done so, I would encourage you to go to Ben’s website, buy a CD or download the new album, and make a donation.
I would also encourage you to make this information about ‘the music business’ known to others who are unaware.
Jesus said, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.” (Luke.5:17)
I think Ben deserves to be honored in this way even as he has honored me in this album, and we have together sought to honor the Lord from whom we have received these gifts which we in turn want to share as widely as we can.

We had a beautifully holy and healing evening together on Friday!
I thought to post some clips and pictures but this is the only one the technology permitted. It is Ben accompanied by his daughter Isla singing a song written after his journey through a severe illness. I presume Dad knows this is the message one of my blog readers needs to hear😀
